WINAMAC - Norice Lynne Maggert, 73, of Winamac, Indiana, passed away during the early evening hours of Tuesday, April 11th, in her residence surrounded by her loving family. Norice was born in Jackson, Michigan, on October 8, 1942, to the late Norris and Yvonne (Eccleston) Barber. She was a graduate of Riley High School in South Bend and furthered her education at IU in South Bend, IN, receiving an Associate Degree. Norice was a member of Oprah's Book Club, and also a member of the Toastmasters (a public speaking group). She enjoyed poetry and scrap-booking. On November 3, 1983, she married Thomas Maggert. Norice served her country in the United States Army receiving an honorable discharge in March of 1962.

Norice is survived by her loving husband, Thomas, along with her three children, Larry Kenneth Parady of Virginia, Christine Denise (Lee) Shepherd of Georgia and Kimberly Kathryn Roberts of South Bend. She was a proud grandmother of Michael (Ashley) Parady of Selma, IN, Brooke, Brandon Shepherd of Georgia, and Neil Roberts of South Bend. Norice was the great-grandmother of Addison Lynne Parady.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, April 15th, from 10:00 am until noon, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. A service celebrating Norice's life will be held at noon, with Rev. Ervin Mize officiating. Burial will follow the service at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, IN.
