Arden L. Floran

Arden L. Floran, 70, of South Bend, passed away Wednesday February 12, 2013, in his home. He was born on August 14, 1942, in South Bend, to the late Jim and Katherine (Lee) Floran. He graduated with a BA from Purdue University. On August 20, 1960, he married Darlene Geraghty, who survives. Also surviving are his daugthers, Vicki (Terry) O'Brien of Buchanan, MI and Christine Farkas of Mishawaka, IN; his sons, Daniel Floran of CA, David (Stacey) Floran of South Bend and Arden Lee Floran of Hobart, IN; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Sally Ewald of South Bend, Kathy Rhodes of Indianapolis, IN and Susan McCarthy of CA; and four brothers, Arthur (Sue) Floran of Granger, Tom Lanning of NC, Mark Lanning of Mishawaka and Terry Lanning of IL. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Bill Lanning and a grandson, Colin O'Brien. Mr. Floran retired in 2008 from DLZ (formerly Cole Associates) after over 40 years of service as a Mechanical Engineer. Funeral services for Arden will be held at 1 pm Saturday February 16, 2013, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where friends may visit for two hour prior to the service. Cremation will follow.
