Robert Scott Skelton

Robert Scott Skelton, 74, of Bremen, IN passed away at 12:25 a.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at home.   He was born on April 14, 1942 in South Bend, IN to the late Robert and Elda Mary (Motts) Skelton.  On October 11, 1985 in South Bend, IN, he was united in marriage to the former Susan Kukla.

Robert is survived by his wife, Susan Skelton; seven daughters, Suzanne Skelton of Knoxville, TN, Sheryll (Tom) Enright of South Bend, IN, Sara Skelton of South Bend, IN, Heather (Adam) Baker of South Bend, IN, Michelle (David) Whickcar of Walkerton, IN, Christine (Leon) Stein of South Bend, IN and Connie (Billie) May of South Bend, IN; six grandchildren, Michael May, Ashley May, Zackery Condon, Justine Wallace, Austin Whickcar, and Elijah Skelton; one great grandson, Isaiah Condon and six siblings, Paul (Jeanne) Skelton of South Bend, IN, John (Connie Martin) Skelton of IN, Mary Ellen (Pam) Skelton of NC, Rene (Dan) Shotwell of OH, Donna Acosta of IN and Samantha Leslie of IN.

Robert is a lifelong resident.  He served his country honorably in the United States Navy Seabees serving in Vietnam.  He was a member of the Plumber and Pipefitter Local #172, retiring at age sixty-two.  He worked with Habitat for Humanity for "Christmas in July".  He loved golfing, bowling and spending time at the Blue Chip.  He enjoyed gardening and planting his numerous trees.  Robert was always out to help everybody! 

Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend, IN.
