Terry Lee Rice

SOUTH BEND - Terry L. Rice, 72, passed away June 25, 2017, at his home. He was born December 19, 1944, in Niles, MI, to J.C. & Betty (Myers) Rice.

Surviving are 2 children, Christopher (Angie) Rice and Tara (Ed) Szymczak; 4 grandchildren, Steven (Devynn) Szymczak, Stephanie Szymczak, Ryan Rice and Olivia Rice; and companion, Brenda Blanton. Also surviving are his mother, Betty, sister, Nickki (Tom) Coleman, nephews, and his beloved dog, Tippy.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Terry was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam, a lifelong member of the V.F.W. #624, American Legion #0365 and Democratic Club. He was a sports enthusiast and a Notre Dame and Chicago Cubs fan. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, euchre, and bowling.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held Friday, July 7, from 4-7 p.m. at Hubbard Hill Estates in the Sailor Community Center.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Roberta Rasmussen for her special care of Terry.

Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements.
