Patricia Mae Scybert Kimes
May 26, 1935 ~ May 30, 2020 (age 85)
Patricia Mae Kimes, 85, of Mishawaka, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 30, 2020. Born in St. Joseph County, South Bend, Indiana on May 26, 1935, Patricia was the daughter of Charles and Grace Mae (Pinegar) Scybert. She graduated from Riley High School.
Patricia was not just a homemaker, she always put her family’s needs before her own, especially her granddaughter, Stephanie, who was her world. She raised Stephanie as her own daughter, and they had a bond that was inseparable.
She is survived by her daughter, Mindy (John) Biggs of Buchanan; four grandchildren, Stephanie (T.J.) Szalewski, Jimmy (Nicole) Kimes, Chris (Angela) Kimes, Dan (Brittany) Braun; eleven great-grandchildren, Cameron, Gavin, Jaxson, Aubree, Kayla, James, McKenzie, Katelynn, Trenton, Parker and Jace. Also surviving is Patricia’s close friend, Nancy Johns. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Grace Mae Scybert; son, Mark E. Kimes who passed away May 18, 2012; and two brothers, Robert and Charles Scybert.
There will be no visitation or services per Patricia’s wishes. Patricia will be laid to rest with her late son, Mark E. Kimes, at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.
