SUN CITY, CA - Tom was born and raised in South Bend, Indiana. He attended James Monroe Elementary and Riley High School. He received a scholarship to Notre Dame University and completed 2 years in mathematics and physical education.

He then enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1953. After 4 years, he married Sharoyn Kronewitter and shortly after started a family. Tom was selected for officers school and graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He served in Korea and in Vietnam where he received a Purple Heart. He retired from the Marine Corps in 1973 after 21 years of service. After the Marine Corps he worked for Bendix Field Engineering in the capacity of program manager and Station manager in far East sites and European stations in addition to on Shemya Island, Alaska, before he retired in 1990.

He is survived by his wife, Sharoyn; two children, Kelly Robertson and husband, Lattie; Michael O'Brien and wife, Neary; and three grandchildren, Kathryn Huhn and husband, Paul; Maddison Robertson and Benjamin O'Brien.

A private Military Honors ceremony will be at Riverside National Cemetery.
