KENDALLVILLE — Faye D. Durbin Jr., 91, of Kendallville died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016, in Parkview Noble Hospital, Kendallville.

He has lived in this area for 55 years, coming from South Bend.

He was a graduate of South Bend Riley High School.

Mr. Durbin had worked for Studebaker in South Bend, McCray Refrigeration in Kendallville, and retired as plant manager and superintendent for United Technologies.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Kendallville, Kendallville Masonic Lodge 276, Fort Wayne Scottish Rite and Mizpah Shrine in Fort Wayne.

He was born Feb. 23, 1925, in South Bend to Faye D. Durbin Sr. and Dorothy (Gruwell) Durbin.

On Sept. 17, 1949, in South Bend he married Patricia A. Morrical. She preceded him in death on Nov. 10, 2013.

Surviving are three daughters, Pamela (Terry) Baker of Columbia City, Teri (Kim) Rider of Kendallville and Cindy Benassi of South Bend; four sons, Don (Judi) Durbin, of Kendallville, Jeffrey (Sally) Durbin of Angola, Scott (Ruth) Durbin of Kendallville and Brent (Lynn) Durbin of Kendallville; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Ed Benassi, and a sister, Margaret Smoak.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 S. State St., Kendallville, with Father James Stoyle of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kendallville officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville.

Calling is Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home, with a Masonic Lodge service at 7:30 p.m. Calling also will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday.

Memorials are to Parkview Home Health & Hospice, Noble Branch for palliative care.
