Nora Lee Grossnickle (Lynn)

MISHAWAKA — Nora “Dolly” Grossnickle Lynn, 76, of Mishawaka, passed away Thursday, May 7, at home. 

She was born June 24, 1938, in Manistee County, Mich., to Glen O. and Edna (Humes) Grossnickle. 

On Sept. 24, 1963, she married her husband of 51 years, Chuck Lynn in South Bend. He survives at home. 

Other survivors include one daughter, Gretchen (Dante) Palmaffy of Everett, Wash.; two sons, Philip (Melissa) Lynn of Jimtown and Jason (Paula) Lynn of Valparaiso; one brother, Richard “Dick” (Pat) Grossnickle of Mishawaka; one sister, Iva Marie (Bob) Zillmer of Dowagiac, Mich.; one brother-in-law, Andrew Blasko of Osceola; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Sushanna Blasko; and two brothers, Newt Grossnickle and Corky Grossnickle. 

Dolly was a loving homemaker for many years and also enjoyed spending time sewing and cooking. 

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 11, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, and for one hour prior to the 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, funeral service at Billings Funeral Home. Pastor Lester Snider will officiate. Interment will follow in Olive Cemetery. 

Memorial contribution may be made to the Center for Hospice Care in memory of Dolly.
