Shirley Anne Mason

May 20, 1939 – Jan. 27, 1988

Shirley Mason, 48, of 61521 Mayflower Road, died at 5 a.m. today in Memorial Hospital after an illness.

Mrs. Mason was born May 20, 1939, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. On April 4, 1958, in South Bend, as Shirley Koczan, she married Gordon D. Mason, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Linda and Susan, both at home, and Diane of South Bend; a brother, Charles Koczan III of South Bend; and her parents, Margaret and Charles Koczan of Port Richey, Fla.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 1201 S. Michigan St. Burial will be in Sumption Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Mrs. Mason was president of the Extension Homemakers of St. Joseph County, a member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter 2 and the Greene Twp. Homemakers Extension Club.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
