Josephine "Jo" Daniels

Josephine “Jo” Daniels, 80 years old, passed away at 10:31 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend.  Jo was born on January 7, 1939 in Chicago, IL, to the late Joseph A. and Artimissia Pearl (Short) Jackson.  She has lived in Lakeville for the past 48 years, moving from South Bend.  On June 21, 1958 in South Bend, Jo and Robert E. Daniels, Sr. were united in marriage.  Her husband preceded her in death on November 5, 2005.  Two grandchildren, Courtney Daniels and Alexis Daniels, also preceded her in death.

Jo is survived by her three children; Rhonda E. Daniels of South Bend, Robert Daniels, Jr. of Greencastle, and Rodney (Donna) Daniels, Sr. of Three Rivers, MI; six grandchildren, Jennifer (fiancé: Nick Townsend) Daniels, Jessica Ritenour, Nicole (Andy) Waters, Brandon Daniels, Rodney Daniels, Jr. and Breanna Daniels; and four great grandchildren, Riley Simmons, Blake Ritenour, Harper Waters and Lincoln Waters.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at the Palmer Funeral Home, within the Palmer Community Complex, 601 N. Michigan Street, Lakeville, IN.  Pastor Joe Fant, pastor of Community Baptist Church in South Bend where Jo formerly attended, will officiate.  A private burial will take place in Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.  Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Josephine “Jo” Daniels may be donated to Riley Children’s Hospital, 705 Riley Hospital Drive, Indianapolis, IN  46202.  Online condolences may be offered to the Daniel’s family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
