Condolences

GRANGER - Diane M. Retek, 59, of Granger, IN passed away Friday, May 12, 2017 in Memorial Hospital after an extended Illness.

Diane was born November 3,1957 in South Bend to the late Luke and Marjorie (Beeman) Herrschop.

On June 11, 1983 in Granger Diane married David A. Retek, who survives. She is also survived by her sister, Debra (Ken) Odynski of South Bend and two brothers, Don Herrschop of Granger and Dennis (Connie) Herrschop of Osceola, and her nephews, Jeffrey M. and Ryan J. (Holly Tavares) Odynski.

Diane was a legal secretary for Tom Walz and Doran Blackmond, Attorneys at Law, for numerous years.

Diane and her husband, David, traveled across the country for National Bowling Tournaments, enjoying the countryside and meeting new people. She also enjoyed making calendars, painting and numerous crafts. David and Diane were past members of PNA Lodge 83, South Bend.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to The American Cancer Society of Northern Indiana, 601 West Edison Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545.

Her wishes were to be cremated and entombed at Highland Cemetery. There will be no visitation or services. Family and friends may gather at Highland Cemetery in the Mausoleum to witness inurment on Thursday, May 18th at 11:00 AM.

The Hanley and Sons Funeral Home and Cremation Service handled arrangements and extends its deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the Retek family.
