SOUTH BEND - Bridget Jean Olmstead, 47, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, in her residence.

Bridget was born December 8, 1969, in South Bend. On August 27, 2016, in South Bend, Bridget Andrews-Switalski married Russell Olmstead Sr., who survives, along with her children, Dylan McDaniel, and Kaley Mihail; stepchildren, Russell Jr. (Mellissa) and Ryan Olmstead; 5 grandchildren; parents, Michael and Francile (Andrews) Switalski; biological father, Harley “Corky” Andrews; sister, Manette (Jim) Donlon; brothers, Michael “Jeep” (Laura) Switalski, Zachary White, and Justin Basham; and grandmother, Martha Andrews.

Bridget was a graduate of Riley High School and Brown Mackie College. She earned a Legal Assistant Degree and worked for Attorney Aladean De Rose for many years. She also worked for the former Cira's Restaurant part and full time over a 25-year span. Bridget enjoyed reading, word games, and exploring restaurants with her husband. She loved cats and being home with her family, especially time spent with her children and grandchildren.

Visitation for Bridget will take place 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, October 8, 2017, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 11:00 am Monday, October 9, 2017, in the funeral home chapel.
