Janice J. (Mikesell) Stanton
September 29, 1929 ~ November 5, 2020 (age 91)
Mrs. Janice J. Stanton, 91, passed away at Southfield Village in South Bend on the afternoon of Thursday, November 5, 2020. Janice was born on September 29, 1929 to the late Von and Retha (Baker) Mikesell.
Janice was a lifelong resident of South Bend, and on October 8, 1950 she was united in marriage to Mr. Neil I. Stanton, who preceded her in death on September 8, 2009. She was a proud mother of three and a beloved sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Janice always put the needs of others before her own, and always displayed grace, empathy, and compassion toward others. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Janice is survived by a daughter, Keineth D. (Douglas) Snyder of South Bend; two sons, Noel V. (Kathryn) Stanton of Madison, WI and Chad N. Stanton of South Bend, as well as numerous extended family members. She held many close friendships, including several that dated back to her youth. In addition to her parents and her husband of 59 years, Janice was preceded in death by her sister, Beverly Frazier.
Per Janice’s wishes, no public services will be held. The family will gather privately to celebrate Janice’s life. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, IN.
