Phyllis M. (Heminger) McGehe

CASSOPOLIS — Phyllis M. McGehe, 83, of 21748 Lake Street, Cassopolis, Michigan, died at 2:25 a.m. Friday, October 27, in the Cass County Medical Care Facility, Cassopolis, after an extended illness. She was born November 2, 1922, in South Bend, Indiana, the daughter of Amsey and Elizabeth M. (Stoenburner) Hemminger, who preceded her in death. Phyllis married Philip McGehe in 1948 in South Bend, Indiana, and he preceded her in death. She is survived by a son, Patrick McGehe of Cassopolis, and daughter-in-law, Cindy Willard of Cassopolis.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, John Hemminger and Howard Hemminger; and five sisters, Mildred Steinhoffer, Rowena Crump, Irma Whitehead, Vera Anderson and Doris Roberts. Phyllis lived in South Bend until moving to Fredericksburg, Texas, and then moved to Cassopolis in 1993. She was a retired systems analyst for the South Bend Tribune.
Cremation will take place and a private family service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Cass County Medical care Facility, Cassopolis. The Connelly Funeral Home, Cassopolis, is handling arrangements.
