Martha J. Jewell Hollister

SOUTH BEND, IN - Martha J. Hollister, 93, of South Bend, IN passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at the Bell Tower Health and Rehab Center. Martha was born on May 19, 1925 in Paris, IL, to the late James V. and Gertrude (Collier) Jewell. As the former Martha Jewell she married Robert C. Hollister on July 12, 1953 at The All Saints United Methodist Church in South Bend, IN. Martha and Robert were married for 56 years. Robert passed away on February 22, 2009. Martha is survived by her two daughters, Patti (David) Fischer of Indianapolis, IN and Beth Hollister of South Bend, IN. Martha is preceded in death by her twin sons, Robert V. Hollister and Mikell C. Hollister. Martha was a loving and caring grandmother to her granddaughter, Carmann Bice of Mishawaka; two great-granddaughters, Ashlynn and Luna; and great-grandson, Riley. Martha is preceded in death by three sisters, Marie Kincaid, Blanche Whetstone, and Ruth Pajak; and three brothers, James, Charles, and Paul Jewell. Martha graduated from Riley High School in 1943. She enjoyed baking cakes for all occasions for over 20 plus years. She was member of a Women's Card Club. She enjoyed sewing and doing arts and crafts. She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church. Martha was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her family, whom she cherished most of all. The family will receive friends from 1-4pm on Sunday, September 23, 2018, at the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, IN. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am, on Monday, September 24, 2018, with Pastor Mike Cramer officiating. Burial will follow the service at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, IN.
