Virginia “Jane” (Pierce) Myers

MISHAWAKA - Virginia "Jane" Myers, 91, of Mishawaka, died on Tuesday August 24, 2010. She was born in South Bend on June 7, 1919 to William C. and Myrtle B. (Keefer) Pierce. Jane married Jay W. Myers in South Bend on January 29, 1938, and he preceded her in death on April 6, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jerry Myers; a granddaughter, Beverly Bennett; a sister, Delta Havens; and four brothers, Donald, William Earl, Richard Roy and Clay Eugene Pierce.
Jane is survived by her daughter, Penny (Michael) Bennett of Mishawaka; four grandchildren, Virginia (Ira) Sult of Connersville, Tammy (Billy) Cooper of Niles, Janelle (Roy) Clements of Elkhart, Michael J. Bennett of Osceola; fourteen great-grandchildren; three great-great- grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Connie K. Myers of Niles.
Jane was a member of Harris Prairie Church of Christ and she enjoyed taking organ lessons.
The family will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 29, 2010 in Bubb Funeral Chapel, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. She will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger.
