In Memory

Alexandra Price - Class Of 2005

Alexandra Price

Alexandra Price

June 29, 1986 – May 14, 2017

Alexandra “Alex” Price , 30 years of age passed away on May 14th, 2017 of heart failure. She was with her family at home surrounded by love.

Alex was born on June 29, 1986 to Elli and Paul Price. Her zest for life brought sunshine to everyone lucky to know her. She enjoyed baseball, riding horses at Reins of Life, cruising on her Uncle Jeff’s boat, and watching music videos. Any object could become a pretend baseball bat or microphone. She particularly favored musicals and would daily sing “Somewhere over the Rainbow.” Everything Wizard of Oz, Notre Dame Marching Band, and Chicago Cubs thrilled her.

In 2009, she truly blossomed after moving into a supported living home on the beautiful property of Hannah & Friends, the vision of Maura and Charlie Weis. She looked forward to Fridays and her weekends at home with Mom and Dad. Alex was a happy child with a strong constitution, who overcame many challenges head on. She was a petite, young lady with gusto for life. Her energy was uplifting and her spirit was infectious. Alex wanted to be friends with everyone she met and was incapable of prejudice. From birth to death, her soul was pure.

Alex’s wisdom was demonstrated through the gift of perspective. She taught us that we are all equal and to live each day with a clean slate. As a free spirit, she reminded us to love who you are and to be yourself. Alex would sing and dance without a care in the world. She adored her older brother Jordan — they shared the bond of music and laughter.

She is survived by her parents: Elli and Paul Price; her brother: Jordan Price (Dallas, TX); Aunts and Uncles: Lynda and Jeffrey Price (Niles, MI); Frana Price & Rich Ohlrich, Ruth Levy, Jackie and Nathan Dwiri, all of San Francisco. First Cousins: Lendy and Adam Beatty (Los Angeles), Jessica Kubow (Long Grove, IL), Jared Price (Chicago), Cobi Levy (NYC), and Anna Ohlrich (Portland, OR)

The family would like to thank the many compassionate Caregivers, Therapists, and Medical Professionals who were involved in her life. A special note of gratitude to Dr. John Rice who supported her medical needs through adulthood.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 17th, 2017 at 4:30pm, Sinai Synagogue 1102 E LaSalle Ave, South Bend, IN 46617 (corner of Lasalle and Eddy), Rabbi Michael Friedland officiating. Burial will follow at the Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery

The family is asking that in lieu of flowers, those wishing to donate in Alex’s memory consider Hannah & Friends, Reins of Life, or Sinai Synagogue.
