ELKHART - Robert “Ed” E. Hickman, 86, passed away January 10, 2018 at his home in Elkhart. He was born September 16, 1931 in South Bend, IN to the late Marvin & Rosa (Ford) Hickman.

Surviving are 4 children; David (Dreama) Smith, Jessica (Emery) Johnson, Race (Patricia) Hickman, and Jacqueline Katzenberger, 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are 3 siblings; Jimmie Hickman, Barbara Reynolds and Oveda “Veda” Shipman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives; both named Betty L. Hickman, 1 son; Scott E. Hickman, 4 siblings; Clemmie Hickman, Zella “Rusty” Harris, Marcella Suglia, and Ronald Hickman.

Ed attended Riley High School, was a truck driver for over 45 years and attended Bristol United Methodist Church. In his spare time he enjoyed; camping, NASCAR races, bowling, riding snow mobiles and motorcycles.

Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the 4 p.m. celebration of life service Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Bristol United Methodist Church, 201 S. Division Street, Bristol, IN.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association or the church.

Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
