Riley 1978 Thomas McColley

SOUTH BEND - Thomas Patrick McColley, age 57, of South Bend, Indiana passed away unexpectedly on January 15, 2018.

Tom was born in South Bend, Indiana to the late Dale and Rosemary McColley. He is survived by a brother, David (Cheryl); sister, Nancy (David) Moreland; nephews, Bryan Bush, Ryan McColley, and Mike Moreland; a niece, Lindsay McColley; and a great-niece, Harper Bush. Tom was preceded in death by a brother, Kevin McColley.

Tom graduated from Riley High School, South Bend and attended Indiana University.

Tom spent a large part of his life in Indianapolis working in the trucking industry, most recently at Frontier Transport and later at Kenneth Smith, Inc. in Niles, Michigan.

He was a sports fan and loved IU, the Chicago Cubs, the Indianapolis Colts, and NASCAR. He loved traveling and spending time at the beach. He loved to listen to classic rock and oldies music. He also loved his family very much.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, February 3, 2018 at St. Matthew Cathedral, 1701 Miami, South Bend, IN 46613, where friends may visit with Tom's family one hour prior to services. Father Tom Kovatch will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL 60674; or Leukemia Society of America, 941 E. 86th Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46240. Tom battled chronic lymphocytic leukemia for the past twenty years.

We will greatly miss Tom's warm smile and sense of humor. Tom had lifelong friends who were always there for him. Most special to him were Geoff Glanders, Father Tom Kovatch, and Ed Voorde.

Thomas was a resident of South Bend, Indiana at the time of passing.

Tom graduated from Riley High School, South Bend and attended Indiana University.
