Karen Jayne (Miller) Horvath

SOUTH BEND, IN -- Karen J. Horvath, 84, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 9:55 a.m. Monday, February 15, 2021 at Millers Merry Manor in New Carlisle. Karen was born on December 17, 1936 in South Bend to J.A. and Wilma (Goodrich) Miller. She went to business school and became an administrative assistant for many years.

On October 6, 2001, Karen married Louis Horvath. They lived happily in South Bend throughout their golden years.

Louis survives along with two daughters, Sharon Ann Semonis (Ken) of South Bend and Susan Jayne Selking (Alan) of Fishers, IN; two sons, Thomas Robert Handshaw (Ilka) of Pompano Beach, FL and James Glen Handshaw (Angie) of Rogers, MN; and one sister, Joyce Herrington of Ogden, UT. Karen was also blessed with 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Karen loved and lived for her family. She also cared deeply about helping others less fortunate than herself. She donated often to many charities and would want any memorial contributions to be made to a charity of your choice.

Family and friends may gather on Friday, February 19, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Palmer Funeral Home-Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka where a Memorial service will begin at 2:30 p.m. Burial will take place at a future date.
