Carol Jean Knisley (Gardini) - Class Of 1965

Carol Jean Knisley
February 3, 1947 - June 17, 2018

WASHINGTON - Carol Jean Knisley (Gardini), 71, of Washington, formerly of Bremen, passed away at 4:44 a.m. on June 17, in Daviess Community Hospital in Washington.
She was born Feb. 3, 1947 to Aldo and Lucille (Bonjorno) Gardini in Mishawaka.
She had attended South Bend Riley High School and had worked at Community Hospital of Bremen. She was a member of Bremen United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. Carol is remembered as an outgoing, fun-loving, caring, patient, dessert-first-then-dinner type of wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She found no greater joy than spending time with her 5 grandchildren and watching them grow up. Her grandchildren are fortunate to hold the fond memories of spending weekends at grandma's house, being spoiled, and always allowed to do whatever they desired while they were with her. She loved shopping and spending days at the pool with her daughters. She always reminded those surrounding her to not sweat the small stuff and to not care what others think of them.
Carol is survived by her husband, Ronald  Knisley, whom she married, April 15, 1968; two daughters, Tracie Knisley Vermillion of Bremen and Stacey (Eric) Headley of Washington; brother, Gerald Gardini of Deltona, Florida; sister, Teresa Pollock of Bremen; five grandchildren, Tayler (Colton) Jackson, Bailey Vermillion, Vincent, Dominic and Luciana Headley; several nieces and nephews.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents Aldo and Lucille Gardini, mother and father-in-law Clarence and Eloise Knisley, her son Gregory Knisley in 1991, and brother Robert Gardini.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 3, at Breman V.F.W. Post 8972, 1750 W Plymouth St, Bremen, Ind. 46506, from 4 – 6 p.m.
Memorial donations may be given to American Heart Association, 208 South LaSalle Street, Suite 1500 Chicago, Ill. 60604-1242
