Stephen Spiek

SOUTH BEND - Stephen G. Spiek, age 58, of South Bend, IN passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, IN. He was born on January 24, 1960 in Chicago, IL to Donald and Ruby Spiek.

Stephen excelled in all sports, but he truly loved to play high school football and golf. He graduated from Riley High School. He enjoyed spending time with his family at Bass Lake. Stephen was a kind and loving man. He would help anyone, anytime and anyplace.

Stephen is survived by the love of his life, Mary; her children, Jennifer (Scott) Kelley of Mishawaka; and two grandchildren, Tyler Kruse and Mary Kelley. He is also survived by his sister, Valerie Dill of Brown County, IN; and his brothers, Chris Spiek of Brown County, IN and Donald Spiek of Oregon. He is also survived by his niece, Heather Spiek; and his large king Doberman, “Boo” who has been sad and lonely without Stephen. While Stephen was sick, Boo comforted him by lying by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, and Mary's son, John Kruse.

Friends may visit family on Friday, July 27, 2018 from 3:00pm-5:00pm at Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, IN. Funeral Services will be held at 5:00pm at the funeral home.
