David Larry Amm

David Larry Amm, 62, residing in Mishawaka, passed away at 3:50 pm Wednesday, March 17, 2021 in his home. He was born August 24, 1958 to the late Milborn Leroy and June Mary (Winenger) Amm in South Bend and remained a lifelong area resident.

On June 8, 1979 in South Bend, David married the former Diane Forker, who survives. In addition to his loving wife of 41 years, he is survived by his daughter, Dr. Hope M. Amm (Dr. Adam Steg) of Hoover, AL; two grandchildren, Eric and Emma Steg; one sister, Judy (Brian) Kiel of Mishawaka; and two brothers, Dennis Amm of Lawton, MI and Jerry (Marcia) Amm of St. Louis, MO. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Amm.

David loved working in the food industry. He was the former president of the OCSA at Purdue University. David was known as a nice guy and could never say “no” to anyone. David’s favorite music band was Rush, and “Working Man” was his motto. He was a laid-back guy, who enjoyed music, concerts, and was an avid reader. He loved his grandchildren, and playing with his dogs and cats. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 – 7:00 pm Monday, March 22, 2021 in the Palmer Funeral Home – Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of David may be given to the funeral home to help defray funeral costs.
