Joe was born in the Fort Wayne to Dorothy Carroll but resided in South Bend and Mishawaka his entire life. Joe attended Lincoln School and graduated from Riley High School in 1976. He was a "PROFESSIONAL DRIVER", that took pride in every job he had from Burger Chef, Purolater Courier, Airborne Express, DHL, Kruse Courier and most recently Patrick Industries. He made friends wherever he went, being funny, telling jokes or just being the caring man he was.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dottie Carroll and his brother James Carroll. He is survived by his wife Darla Carroll, his brother Jed Carroll, children Adam Carroll (Nichole), Andrew Merrill, Amanda Merrill his grandchildren Arianna, Athena, Brayden, Chase, Eli, Paityn, Kamdyn, Mariah, Ayden, Dylen. PaPa Joe's grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life. He is also is survived by many cousins in the New Haven area.
Joe was a born entertainer, be it playing Santa's helper, or DJ, WJOE p.m. playing for 1000's of weddings, Car shows and the in house DJ for Regal Lanes playing music for Rock N Bowl and Country Bowl. He valiantly battled cancer and told jokes, listened to music till the very end.
We would like to thank everyone especially his lifelong brothers from a different Mother Mike Orr, Bruce Stickley and the Twyckenham gang. His Patrick Industries family, his boss Mark Queener and friends for all the support and love that was extended to Joe and ourselves.
