ST. JOSEPH, MI - David A. Rumpf, 58, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, October 31, 2016 at 11 AM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Pastor Marlo Fritzke officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, October 30, 2016 from 3 PM until 8 PM at the funeral home. Dave was born on August 28, 1958 in South Bend, IN, to George & Maxine (Fortier) Rumpf. He graduated from Riley High School in South Bend.
On October 11, 1980, Dave married the love of his life, Jennifer Stout, in South Bend. Shortly after, they moved to St. Joseph where Dave worked as a Senior Reactor Operator at DC Cook Nuclear Plant in Bridgman. He enjoyed scratch off lottery tickets, hunting, fishing and spending quality time with family & friends at their lake house on Magician Lake. Dave loved to cheer on the Irish and would proudly represent Notre Dame any way he could. He was an incredible man who could always put a smile on anyone's face; he will be dearly missed by all.
ave is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Jennifer; sons, Greg Rumpf and Tim (Fiancé, Shelly McCaul) Rumpf both of St. Joseph; brother, George (Janet) Rumpf; father-in-law, Ray Stout; mother-in-law, Dolly Stout; brothers-in-law, Jim (Theresa) Stout, John (Janet) Stout, and Jeff (Stacy) Stout; and many other extended family members.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Greg Rumpf.
