Robert E. Young

Robert E. Young, 66, a lifelong resident of South Bend passed away on Monday, September 4, 2023, at his home. Robert was born on December 18, 1956, in South Bend to the late James and Marjorie (Robison) Smith.

Robert is survived by his sisters; Michelle (Ed) Rivera of South Bend, Laura (Jeff) Hatfield of Lakeville, and Cherri McBain (Scott) of South Bend. He is also survived by two nieces, Kayla and Maribelle, and two nephews, Marcus and Mason. He will be greatly missed by all. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, maternal and paternal grandparents, two aunts, and an uncle.

He loved music and playing his guitar, his favorite band was the Beatles, and he was an avid collector of music and movies. Robert worked for the Food Bank of Northern Indiana, a job that he was very passionate about.

In keeping with his wishes, no services will be held, however, the family is going to have a Celebration of Life on September 23, 2023, from 2 pm-4 pm at Deer Run Church of Christ, 2730 S. Ironwood Dr. South Bend IN, 46614.

 The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the Food Bank of Northern Indiana in his name.
