SOUTH BEND — Services for Edward W. Luther, 73, of Traverse City, Mick, formerly of South Bend, who died Sunday at his home after an illness, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, Traverse City. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to Munson Medical Center Oncology Unit, Traverse City, 49684.

Mr. Luther retired in 1979 as a weight and measure inspector with the Michigan Department of Agriculture.

He was born Oct. 7, 1914, in South Bend. On June 9, 1967, in Detroit., he married Marjorie Trewin. She survives, along with two daughters, Mary Goertler of Kalamazoo and Brenda Kroupa of Traverse City; a son, Donald of South Bend; two step-sons, Peter Harris of Hazel Park, Mich., and William Harris of Fort Myers, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mardell Blankenburg of Fredricksburg, Texas.

He was a graduate of Riley High School.
