Robert Cass Hudson
Robert Cass Hudson June 14. 1926 — March 2, 2004 Robert Cass Hudson, 77, died at 5:45 a.m. Tuesday, March 2, in Bentley Village Care Center, Naples, Fla. He was born June 14, 1926, in Detroit, Mich., to Marina and Cass Hudson, who preceded him in death, along with his first wife, Dorothy Jean Logan, whom he married July 29, 1950. She died August 23, 1981. Also preceding him in death was a daughter, Mary Ann, who died Feb. 21, 1988.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Larson Hudson, whom he married Sept. 30, 1989. Also surviving are two daughters, Linda (Eric) Larson of South Bend, Ind., Terese (Wade) Thrall of Homewood, Ill.; and a son, Scott of Los Gatos, Calif. Two stepchildren also survive, Dr. Christine L. Stoll (J. Robert) of Kenilworth, Ill., and Eric J. Larson, South Bend. Ten grandchildren also survive. They are Matthew, Rachel, Alex and Emily Larson, all of South Bend, Wesley and Tara Thrall of Homewood, Andrew Stoll, Chicago, Michael (Jennifer) Stoll, Hinsdale, Ill., and Meredith and Alison Stoll, Kenilworth. His sister, Elizabeth Hanson of South Bend, and a brother, Lincoln Hudson of Minnetonka, Minn., also survive.
Bob lived most of his life in South Bend. He was a 1949 graduate of Indiana University, Bloomington. He served two years in the Army Air Force during World War II. In 1949 he joined the family business, Cass Hudson Co., which was started by his father in 1934. Bob retired in 1991 as president of the company, and it is now being run by a third generation.
After retirement, Bob and Evelyn spent winters in Florida, and also enjoyed traveling. They moved to Bentley Village in Naples in 2000, but still maintained a condo on Lake George Drive, Mishawaka, Ind. Bob was a longtime member of Ridgedale Presbyterian Church
