Sally Ilene (Mikel) Davis

July 9, 1945 - March 7, 2001

Lakeville, IN - Sally I. Davis, 55 years old, residing on Stanton Road in Lakeville, IN, passed away at 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2001, at the Memorial Hospital, South Bend, after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Davis was born on July 9, 1945, in South Bend, and has been a lifelong area resident. On May 1, 1961, in South Bend, she married Gerald L. Davis, who survvies.

Along with her husband, Gerald, survivors include a daughter, Julie (Brad) Whiteman of Lakeville; four sons, Doug Davis of Warsaw, Bill (Tina) Davis of Lakeville, Steve Davis of North Liberty and John Davis of Lakeville; a special niece, Priscilla Jane Price of South Bend; thirteen grandchildren; her father, David Mikel of South Bend; and two brothers, Edward L. Mikel and Arthur L. Mikel, both of South Bend. Sally's mother, Harriet (Byers) Mikel, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Davis was the Secretary/Treasurer and founding partner of the Lake City Heat Treating Corporation, Warsaw, since March of 1983. She lived and devoted her entire life for her children.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2001, at the Southlawn United Methodist Church, 60756 U.S. 31, South Bend, IN 46614. Rev. Donald Carpenter will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 3 to 8 p.m. today, March 9, at the Palmer Funeral Home, 314 S. Michigan Street, Lakeville, IN, and one hour prior to services in the church on Saturday.

Contributions in memory of Sally I. Davis may be donated to the Southlawn United Methodist Church.
