Leo R. Edison Sr

Leo R. Edison Sr., 59, of  23289 Grove St, died.at 5 a.m. today in- St. JosepTs-Hospital after a short illness. He was a maintenance repairman for Clark Equipment Co., Buchanan, Mich. He was born Oct. 25, 1913, in South Bend, and had lived here all his life.

On Aug. 5, 1939, in South Bend, he married Mary E, Gramm, who survives, Also surviving are a son. Leo R. Edison Jr. of South Bend; two daughters, Mrs. Leona Browning of Fort Wayne and Mrs. Leota Monroe of Osceola; six grandchildren, and four sisters, Mrs. Marguerite Smith and Mrs. Maxine Mann, both of South Bend, Mrs. Mildred Wolfe of Three Oaks, Mich., and Mrs. Evelyn Benn of Elkhart.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, where services will. be Rev.  at 2 p.m. Monday, Rev. Val. E. Harris, pastor of Stull Memorial United Methodist Church, of which Mr. Edison was a member, officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Mr. Edison was  a member of Lodge 294, F & AM; the Scottish Rite, Valley of South Bend: the Ardmore Lions Club; and the Portage Twp. Fire Department. He was former scoutmaster of Troop 439, Boy Scouts of America.

A masonic memorial service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
