She was born December 4, 1976 in South Bend to Jeff Dow and Edmay DeBruyn and grew up in Northern Virginia.  Back to South Bend as a teenager, Eryn attended Riley High School, graduating in 1994.

Gifted artistically, Eryn excelled in the fine arts, languages, and poetry; enjoyed abstract painting, jewelry making, and music.  Her favorites were The Grateful Dead, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Paul Simon, and Billy Joel.

Left to cherish Eryn’s memory are her beautiful daughter, Olivia (Livvi), her parents, Edmay Smith of South Bend, Jeff and Donna Dow of South Riding, Virginia; her brother and sister-in-law, Christian and Chelsea Smith.  She also leaves behind her nieces, Charlotte and Lucy Smith, who loved their Aunt Eryn.  Also surviving Eryn are her friend, John Garrett, many aunts, uncles and cousins.  

Preceding Eryn in death were her stepdad, Alan Smith; cousin, Dawn DeBruyn; grandmother, Edmay DeBruyn; grandparents, Jane and John Dow; and her best friend, Shannon Stackhouse.

Funeral services for Eryn will be held Wednesday, December 23 at 5:00 p.m.  Friends and family may gather two hours prior to the service at Palmer Funeral Home – Bubb Chapel, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka, IN 46545
