January 31, 1958 ~ December 22, 2020 (age 62)

Timothy Robert Taylor, 62 years old, passed way at 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at his home after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.  Tim was born on January 31, 1958 in South Bend and has remained a lifelong resident.  On November 1, 1986 in South Bend, Tim and Jane M. Knutson were united in marriage. 

 

Along with his loving wife, Jane, he is survived by his four children, William (Stephanie), Kyle, Karolyn, and Kaylie, all of South Bend; four grandchildren, Hope, Faith, Chance, and Clara with a fifth due in February 2021; his father, Robert (Nancy) Taylor of Elkhart; brother, Matthew Taylor of South Bend; sisters-in-law, Cara Taylor of Indianapolis and Sherry (Kirby) Sprouls of South Bend; and brother-in-law, Bruce (Barbara) Knutson of South Bend.  Tim is also survived by several nieces, nephews and extended family.  He was preceded in death by his mother, UnaFay Taylor; brother, John Taylor; and his in-laws, Gene and Carol Knutson. 

Tim worked for Gunite Corporation from 1984-2012.  After Gunite closed in 2012, he worked at Prime Time RV until his health declined.  He was a graduate of Riley High School and proudly served his country with the United States Marine Corp.

A celebration of Tim’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at the Palmer Funeral Home, within the Palmer Community Complex, 601 N. Michigan Street, LAKEVILLE.  Friends may visit with the family beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.  Masks will be required, along with social distancing.  Per Tim’s request, casual attire please. 

During Tim’s battle with pancreatic cancer, the family would like to thank all of those wonderful people for their care, compassion and support including, Cindy and Ivy Fraling, David and Joni Frame, Collins/Beyrer family, Bobby and Rox Lawson, Henry Borr and the Platt and Knutson family.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Tim may be donated to Dawn Hill Fight Foundation, P.O.
