Mr. Ronald “Ronnie” King, Jr., 45, of South Bend, Indiana, departed this life on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend. He was born on April 21, 1975, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Patricia Ann Thomas and Ronald King. He was the youngest of his siblings.

Ronnie attended Riley and Clay High School and was a lifelong resident of South Bend, Indiana. Ronnie had a winning and captivating smile—everyone who came in contact with him, loved him. Ronnie left a loving lifetime impression on everyone who met him.

Ronnie loved the finer things in life. He would light up a room with his presence. He was an avid classic car collector with an eye for lavish luxury items.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ronnie King; mother, Patricia Ann; grandparents, James and Earleen Miller, and Earnestine and Jack King; nephew, Isaac Taylor, Jr.; and daughter, Kiara King.

Those left to cherish his memory include fiancé, Shalena Wright; son, Tyler Simpson of Atlanta, Georgia; Renea Hayworth of Indianapolis, Indiana; sons, Ronald King III and Kyron King; daughters, R’Kylah King, Royal King, and Alayzia Maxwell of South Bend; Ashantie Harvey and Derrion Winston of South Bend, whom he loved as his own. Ronnie is also survived by his brother, Andre Mack (Linda) of Chicago, Illinois; sister, Alexius Carroll of Chicago; special cousin, LaVar “Boosie” King of Chicago; aunt, Carol Sessom of South Bend; aunts, Lorraine Harris and Phyllis Dugar of Chicago; uncle, Henry Miller (Tracy) of South Bend; Michael King of Chicago; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services for Ronnie will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Palmer Funeral Home, within the Palmer Community Complex, 601 N. Michigan Street, Lakeville, IN. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery in South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00am-12:00pm on Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
