Zachariah Bud Higgason

Zachariah Bud Higgason, 19 years old, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 31, 2022 in Hobart, IN.

Zachariah was born September 3, 2002 in Gary, IN to Ronald Higgason and Angelia Collins. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Marlene Dodge; his uncle Bud; and his cousin, Andrew Collins, Jr.

Left to cherish the memory of Zachariah are his parents, Angelia Collins and Ronald Higgason; siblings, Anastasia Denson, Antonio Collins, Alexis Denson, Anthrist Collins, Angelita Collins, Artisch Collins, and Ronald Higgason, Jr; grandmother, Gloria Geannette Wright; aunts, Annette (Alvin) Price, Althea Collins, Arline Lopez, Aunt Bert, and Aunt Carol; uncle, Andrew (Angela) Collins; and cousins, Shirley, Susan, Antionette Taylor, Kloyia Price, Ashley Price, Dakota Price, Amir Collins, Amire Collins, Sahmiah Collins, and Aniani Collins.

Zachariah was a graduate of Riley High School where he played basketball, was on the National Honor Society, and partook in the Fire and Rescue program. Zachariah also won the Gentleman and Scholars Spelling Bee hosted at the Century Center in 2017. He also enjoyed being active in the community, whether it was playing tee ball, cub scouts, or volunteering at the local food bank. He was very neat and clean, a hard worker, and always accomplished whatever he put his mind to. He will truly be missed by all.
