Andrew J Crothers - Class Of 1997 VIEW PROFILE

Andrew J. Crothers

December 31, 1978 ~ December 1, 2022

Andrew Crothers of South Bend passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at his home. Andy was born on December 31, 1978, in South Bend, Indiana to Bernie J. Crothers and Christine "Chris" Crothers, who survive him. He graduated from Riley High School in South Bend and worked in sign installation for ARC Document Solutions.

Andy had a heart of gold. He loved his entire family dearly and was very proud of his three children - Abigail, Blake, and Cameron Crothers. Andy inherited two traits from his Grandpa Sid: being an extremely talented artist and an accomplished golfer. He loved his life with his soulmate Robin – his partner for fishing trips, working in the garden, listening to music, watching the Chicago Bears on TV and the birds and squirrels in the backyard. He always took time to enjoy nature, whether that meant watching the sunset, looking at stars, or catching meteor showers with Robin. He also loved spending time with his children, taking them out to dinner, celebrating family holidays, or just talking. Andy was a great cook and loved to grill during the warmer months. His friends were always jealous when he posted food pictures to Facebook. Some of his favorite dishes included morel mushrooms (which he gathered each spring), pierogis, chili, steak, and roasted veggies from his garden. Animals loved Andy almost as much as he loved them, and he was fond of all the pets in the family.

Andy is survived by his parents, Bernie and Chris, his fiancé, Robin Eaton, and his children, Abigail J. Crothers of Indianapolis, IN, Blake A. Crothers of Tucson, AZ, and Cameron E. Crothers of South Bend. Also surviving him is his sister, Kelly C. (Josh) Batchelor of South Bend, along with two nephews, Kaden and Ryan Batchelor. He is loved and mourned by many uncles, aunts, and cousins.

A Memorial Service for Andrew will be held Friday, December 9, 2022, at 6:00 pm at Palmer Funeral Home - Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend. Friends and loved ones may visit with the family from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday and a celebration of his life will take place at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 10th, at American Legion Post 357 on Sample Street & Mayflower Road in South Bend. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be donated to Pet Refuge in South Bend, Here Kitty Kitty Rescue in Elkhart, and Homeward Bound Animal Welfare Group in Elkhart.
