SOUTH BEND -- Ruth D. Rakow. 81, of Ribourde Drive, died at 7:09 a.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital after an illness. Mrs. Rakow was born June 6, 1913. in Chicago and lived in South Bend since 1922. coming from Chicago.

On Feb. 2, 1935, in South Bend. as Ruth B. Helmer, she married Robert B. Rakow. He survives with two daughters. Robin Lakovits of Granger and Randi R Marshall of Osceola; and three grandchildren.

There will be no services or visitation. Cremation will take place. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Welsheimer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc. or SAGE, in care of Memorial Hospital.
