SOUTH BEND — Services for O. Mercedes "Dee" Taylor, 78, of 1226 N. Elmer St., who died at 9:49 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, will be at II a.m. Monday in Holy Cross Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in McCann Funeral Home, 21275 W. Cleveland Road. Memorial contributions may be made to Epsilon Theta Chapter of Sigma Alpha National Philanthropic Sorority. Mrs. Taylor was a cosmetechniclan at the former Buschbaum's Pharmacy on Miami Street.

She was born Nov. 30, 1913. in Kokomo, Ind., and lived in South Bend most of her life, coming from Kokomo. On May 28. 1949, in South Bend, as O. Mercedes Johnson, she married Thomas M. Taylor. He survives with a daughter, Myrene A. Biemat of Wasilla, Alaska; two sons, Thomas M. Jr. of Warrenville, Ill., and Patrick A. of South Bend; and five grandchildren.

She was a member of the church and past national officer of the sorority.
