SOUTH BEND - Winifred Rogers Klinger, 99, died Friday, January 3, 2013 at Jolley Acres Healthcare Center in Orangeburg, SC. She was the widow of Donald J. Klinger. A memorial service will be held at a later date in South Bend, Indiana. Mrs. Klinger was born Sept. 21, 1914 in South Bend, Indiana, a daughter of the late Ralph and Irene Rogers.
She attended Riley High School in South Bend.
She was a homemaker and member of the Order of the Eastern Star and made the best peach pie ever known by her family and friends.
She was pre-deceased by a daughter-in-law, Toni Morris Klinger and 2 grandsons, Chris and Brian Holderbaum.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Lee Holderbaum of North Liberty, Indiana; 3 sons, Terry (Mary) Klinger of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Ronald (Catherine) Klinger of West Palm Beach, Florida, and Brent J. Klinger of Chapin, SC; 1 sister, Marilyn Laflin of South Bend Indiana, 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and a number of nieces and nephews.
