Raymond W. Welborn

SOUTH BEND — Raymond W. Welborn, 77, of North Manchester, Ind., formerly of South Bend, died at 9:15 p m. Monday at Wabash (Ind.) County Hospital. Mr. Welborn retired after 19 years teaching in the South Bend Community School Corp. He was born Oct 5, 1913, in South Bend, and spent most of his life in this area.

On Jan. 2, 1938, in California, he married Vivian Kayler. She survives with two sons, James R. of Fort Wayne and Michael R. of North Manchester; five grandchildren; three sisters, Evelyn Durham of Camarilla, Calif., Dorothy Harbaugh of Clearwater, Fla., and Effie Fisher of San Diego; and a brother, Larry of Dalton, Ill. A daughter, Nancy Lou Matz, preceded him in death

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday In Timbercrest Church of the Brethren, North Manchester. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, North Manchester. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today in DeLaughter Mortuary, North Manchester, and one hour before services Thursday in the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Heifer Project or Reach Program, both in North Manchester.
