Darrold James Kollar, 88, residing on East Hastings, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 4:20 a.m. _ Saturday, January 11, 2003,
in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend. He was born on Oct. 31, 1914, in South Bend, to the late Harlen and Edith (Louser) Kollar, and had lived in the South Bend area most of his life.

Mr. Kollar married the former Madalon Jones in South Bend in 1934. She passed away on Jan. 22, 1995. One son, David Kollar in 1972, also preceded him in death. Mr. Kollar was a gauge maker for Bendix, where he retired.

Mr. Kollar is survived by two daughters, Susan Strasser and Claire Myers, both of South Bend; seven grandchildren, Sherry Harbin, Stacy Andrews, Shane Myers, Michael Myers, Steven Kollar, Debbie Dessum and Kathy Donnath; and by six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 13, in the Palmer Funeral Homes-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave, South Bend. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, in the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park. Graveside services and burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, South Bend.
