David A. Morris
February 25, 1938 ~ March 19, 2023 85 Years Old
David A. Morris, 85 years old, passed away at 4:58 a.m. on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend. David was born on February 25, 1938 in South Bend to the late Ralph and Dorothy (Ritter) Morris. He has remained a lifelong resident. On November 23, 1975 in South Bend, David and the former Norma J. Cox were united in marriage. Norma preceded him in death on July 12, 2017. One brother, Dennis Morris, also preceded in death.
David is survived by his two daughters, Leota S. Morris and Dawn M. Morris, both of Mishawaka and their families; step-son, Charles W. Cox, Jr. of South Bend; and two brothers, Daniel Morris of Round Rock, TX and Ralph (Rene) Morris of North Liberty.
David retired in 2000 as a lineman for I & M Electric after 23 years. He proudly served his country with the United States Army. David was a member of American Legion Post 303 and National Model Railroad Association. He was an avid model train buff and a volunteer for the Studebaker Museum. David was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend. Military graveside services will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Morris may be donated to the Studebaker National Museum, 201 Chapin Street, South Bend, IN 46601 or to the National Model Railroad Association, 4121 Cromwell Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
