William J. Kiefer
January 30, 1916 ~ September 20, 2005
William J. Kiefer, 89, of Fairview Street, Osceola, formerly of Ironwood Road, South Bend, passed away at 1:44 p.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2005, in Memorial Hospital. Mr. Kiefer retired from Torrington. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Masonic Lodge. Bill was born on January 30, 1916, in South Bend, to William and Irene (Braniff) Kiefer.
On April 27, 1940, in South Bend, he married the former Christine Ivich, who died on September 25, 2002. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cherlyn Morrow, and a brother, Jim Kiefer.
Surviving are two sons, William J. Kiefer III of South Bend and David Kiefer of Edwardsburg, MI; a son-in-law, Gary Morrow of Pierceton, IN; six grandchildren, David (Stephanie) Kiefer Jr., Cynthia Millington, Joey Kiefer, Mike (Ann) Morrow, Tim (Tracy) Morrow and Rene (Bill) Finn; 18 great-grandchildren, David III, Kayla, Amanda, Andrew, Matthew, Marybeth, Chelseajo, Amber, Tara, Billy, Jeremy, Ashley, Nick, David, Nicol, Dayna, Brittany and Travis; three great-great-grandchildren, Cameron, Emma and Makayla; and a brother, Norman (Theresa) Kiefer of South Bend.
Memorial services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 25, 2005, in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue. Family and friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
