Loyd H. Hubbard

Loyd H. Hubbard, 62, of 13495 Osborne, Wakarusa, died Wednesday in the Ridgedale Nursing Home after a short illness. He was born on March 30, 1917, in Austin, Ind., and lived in the South Bend area most of his life. He was married to Betty Lou Sirlin in South Bend in 1938. She died in March, 1975.

Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Sandra Sue Kay of Sterling, Ill.; a son, Paul C. of Wakarusa; four grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Samaria Hubbard of South Bend, and a brother, O. Linus Hubbard of South Bend.

Hubbard was a retired director of purchasing for the Torrington Co. where he was employed for 35 years.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 1201 S. Michigan. Rev. Tim Murtaugh, pastor of Southside Christian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home were members of Masonic Lodge 294, F & AM, will conduct a memorial service at 6:45 p.m.

Hubbard was a member of the masonic lodge as well as the Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend, and the Madison Township Lions Club. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Fund.
