Lucile A. (Ziegert) Sausaman

SOUTH BEND - Lucile A. Sausaman, 95, of South Bend, died Wednesday, January 9, 2013, in Southfield Village. Mrs. Sausaman was born February 3, 1917, in South Bend, to the late Helen (Stephan) and Otto Ziegert, and was a lifetime area resident. On March 22, 1957, she married Richard C. Sausaman, who preceded her in death April 21, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Walter, Raymond and Jack Ziegert.
She is survived by cousins, Arden S. Bork (Susan) of Indianapolis, IN, Carolyn Schwinkendorf (James) of Grand Rapids, MI, and William Ziegert (Connie) of Meridian, Idaho; and a special sister-in-law, Rose Ann Gaskill of Fort Wayne, IN.
Lucile was a 1935 graduate of James Whitcomb Riley High School.
She was employed as a secretary for several firms in the South Bend area. Lucile and Dick loved to play golf and belonged to Four Lakes Country Club for several years. They were also able to spend several winters in Florida. She was a longtime member of Emmaus Lutheran Church.
The public is invited to attend graveside services at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15th, at Southlawn Cemetery, with Rev. Donald Stuckwisch Jr. officiating. Burial will follow. Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., is assisting the family with arrangements.
