Frederic A. Hamann

Fredric A. Hamann, 79, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2012, in his home. He was born on January 8, 1933 to the late Edwin and Donna (Clark) Hamann in Cassopolis, Michigan, and has lived in South Bend since 1943, coming from Sumnerville, Michigan.

Along with his parents; he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Mary Hamann.

Fredric graduated from Riley High School in 1951. He then attended I.U.S.B., Acme School of Design, and San Diego State.

Mr. Hamann retired in 1999, as a self-employed Plastics Engineer. On October 12, 1957, he married Patricia E. Kuminecz at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in South Bend, Indiana. She died on July 20, 2012. Fredric is survived by two sons, Michael John (fiancée Lori Mazick) Hamann of South Bend, Indiana; David Scott (Becky) Hamann of South Bend, Indiana; five grandchildren, Kate (Juan Valenzuala) Hamann; Jake (Anne) Hamann; Nick (Kelly) Hamann; Pete (Gina) Hamann; Lisa (Tony) Hamann; one step-granddaughter, Andrea Hamann; three great-grandchildren, Lucas Anthony; Lucas Satchel; Elijah Michael Hamann; one sister, Carol June (Stafford) Miller of Middleton, California; and one brother, Claude James (Cecilia) Moore of Wee, California.

Mr. Hamann was a member of St. Stanislaus Parish in South Bend and was a former volunteer at Southside Little League, while his sons played there. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War, where he served his country from 1952 -1956.

To honor Fredric's request, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2012 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Brookfield Street, South Bend, Indiana, with Rev. Michael Mathews, C.S.C. officiating. Private Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, Indiana at a later date.
