SOUTH BEND - Doris Jean Hurmon, 51, loving mother, grandmother and sister who resided on Forest Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, went home to the Lord at 10:55 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2011, at St. Joseph Hospital of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Doris, daughter of the late Pearl Vann Hurmon and Archie Agnew, was born March 8, 1960, in South Bend. She was raised by Booker and Willa Vann.

She graduated from Riley High School, and was a former employee of Century Center. She was a member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. She also had a green thumb for plants and loved animals.

Doris leaves to cherish three loving, caring and compassionate daughters, Keitra (Larry) Presswood of South Bend, Devin Hurmon and Shawnae Davis, both of Mishawaka, IN; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline Bonds of South Bend and Sonya (Johnathon) Boyd of Fort Wayne, IN; six brothers, Elijah Hurmon & Johnnie (Mary) Bonds, both of South Bend, Benjamin Bonds of Fort Wayne, IN, Aaron Bonds, Clarence Hurmon and Herbert Shawn Miner; three stepbrothers, Clifford Bailey, Tyree Bonds and Clifford Bonds; a special sister, Doneisha Jones; and special niece, Elicia Hurmon; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Doris Jean Hurmon will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2011, at Emmanuel Church, with burial following at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will occur at the church from 11:00 a.m. to noon.
