Marilyn Jean (Kirkham) Jones

SOUTH BEND - Marilyn Jean Jones, 78, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Marilyn was born August 14, 1937 in South Bend to the late Ralph and Ellen Kirkham. She is also preceded in death by two brothers, Leroy Kirkham and Claude Grenert Jr.
Marilyn is survived by her son, Daryl (Karyn) Jones; and grandsons, Brian (Alison) Jones and Anthony Jones.
Marilyn was a graduate of Riley High School.
She worked most of her adult life for several factories: Pigeon River Craftsman, Bendix Corporation, where she was a proud member of the United Auto Workers Union, and a few others, before finally retiring from Vac Masters (Elkhart), where she was known to be someone you could always count on. Marilyn's strong working values have guided many people in her life, though she may not have realized it. Her pride in her work was easy to see and rubbed off on everyone she worked with. Marilyn was always willing to help anyone in need. She cherished her time she was able to spend with her grandchildren and many kitties. Marilyn will be greatly missed, it just won't be the same without her.
A special thanks to all who have helped her in her time of need these last couple years.
Visitation for Marilyn will be 1:00pm - 4:00pm, Monday, January 4, 2016 in St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., South Bend, Indiana 46619.
