Dorothy M. (Lyvers) Lind

LIND Dorothy Marie Lind. Dorothy M. (Lyvers) Lind, 88, died July 1, 2006 in Mentor, Ohio. Dorothy lived in Grove City, Ohio for over 30 years, after raising her family on Oakcrest Dr. in South Bend, Indiana. She was retired from Robert Shaw Controls where she worked as a secretary. While residing in Grove City, Dorothy worked as a volunteer at Mount Carmel West Hospital, was an officer in the Welcome Wagon Club, and the Grove City Friends and Neighbors.

After retirement, she was active in a Grove City bowling league and played bridge at the Senior Center. Dorothy also volunteered at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Prior to residing in Grove City, she worked at Edwards' Iron Works and Leroy Brothers. She volunteered many hours at St. Anthony's parish where her children attended school. Always an avid bridge player, she taught many to play the game.

She graduated from Riley High School in 1935.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Norman, her parents Stella and Edward Lyvers, her 2 sisters Ruth Lyvers Seago and Barbara Lyvers Rich and by her brother Martin Lyvers.

She is survived by children, Janet (Michael) Griffith of Oakland, California, Leonard (Stephanie) Lind of Durham, North Carolina, and Carol (James) Nemastil of Cleveland Heights, OH; her sister, Phyllis (Louis) Toth of Mishawaka; and sister-in-law, Lois (Martin) Livers of Franklin, Indiana; and 7 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.

Contributions to her memorial may be made to Alzheimer's Association of Central Ohio or Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Friends may visit Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at THE SPENCE-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 2697 Columbus Street, Grove City. Funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3752 Broadway, Grove City. Rev Fr. John Swickard, Celebrant. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
