Ronald J. McGee

SOUTH BEND - Mr. Ronald James McGee, beloved father, son and brother, passed away Monday, July 23, 2012 at 6:57 p.m. in Memorial Hospital. He was 58 years old. A lifetime South Bend resident, Ronald was born on March 20, 1954, the son of Ernest McGee and Rosella Brooks.
He was a graduate of Riley High School and a U.S. Army Reservist.
Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Rosella Brooks; six sisters, Alice McGee, Ernestine McGee, Doris McGee, Brenda McGee, Mary Flowers and Shirley Brooks, all of South Bend; and three brothers, Hosie McGee of Queens, NY, Jeffrey Brooks of Moore, Oklahoma and Richard McGee of South Bend. Also surviving are five sons, Shawn (Tracy) McGee of California, Tori, Kyle, Robert and Ronald McGee of South Bend; and two daughters, Ikenia and Shalonda McGee, also of South Bend, along with 15 grandchildren.
Ronald will be greatly missed by many, but none more so than his mother Rose, with whom he resided. Ronald and Rose had an unbreakable bond. They were each other's daily companions.
Ronald was preceded in death by his father, Ernest McGee, grandfather, Clarence Poindexter, aunt, Mary Fisher, nephew, Damon Comer, and a lifelong friend, Benetta Bracey.
The funeral service for Mr. McGee is at 12:00 noon Saturday, with visitation one hour before the service, in Cobb Funeral Home, 3525 S. Michigan St. cobbfuneralhome@aol.com
