Brenda A. (Peterson) Moffitt

SOUTH BEND - Brenda Ann Moffitt, 61, was born to O.C. Peterson Sr. and Rosemary Peterson on April 9, 1952, in South Bend, Indiana. Brenda was a life resident of South Bend, and grew up on the Southeast side.
She attended Riley High School, and worked for The University of Notre Dame for 20 years.
In 1972 Brenda married the love of her life, Frankie Lee Moffitt Sr. Of that union were four children, Deric Lamont Foulks, Tammara Lashell Moffitt, Frankie Lee Moffitt Jr., and Dennea Lavette Moffitt. Brenda was a pillar of strength to those who knew and loved her. She was always looking out for others & giving of herself. Family was her main love and mattered to her most.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 41 years, Frankie Moffitt Sr. Her children, Tammara Moffitt, Frankie Moffitt Jr., Dennea Moffitt, and stepdaughter, MaKeisha Wilson-Moffitt. Her grandchildren, Nicole Renee and Deidra Ann Foulks, Frankie Lee Moffitt III, Marteeka, Tyren, Syria, Tylen and Deric Moffitt. Her namesake, grandchild, Brendann Brown, who she wouldn't hesitate to tell everyone was named after her. She had five great-grandchildren, Dei'onte, Di'onna, Frankie Lee Moffitt IV, Ayana and Alexavier. Her brothers, Ronald (Jeanette) Peterson, Calvin Peterson Sr., Valentino, Robert and Terrance Peterson. Her sisters, Patricia Adams, Stephanie (Paul) Sims and Anna Harris Peterson. Her mother-in-law, Evelyna Moffitt, and her father-in-law, L.D. Moffitt. Along with a host of other relatives.
Preceding her in death was a very special paternal grandmother, Elnora Lattimore. Her father, O.C. Peterson Sr., and her mother, Rosemary Peterson. Also preceding were her son, Deric Foulks, her brothers, O.C Peterson Jr., Dennis Peterson and Anthony Peterson Sr.
The family would like to send a huge thanks to all the physicians, and specialist who treated our mom. In addition, thanks to the staff/administrators at the University of Notre Dame for all of their support and well wishes during this difficult time. Mom will be missed dearly, along with that beautiful smile, but she is at peace now.
